Cardiff airport is located to West of the City. It is a small airport with a limited number of flight routes. Transfer options from this airport to the City Centre can be found on the airport's website. The best option is to take the 905 bus, which will take you to the train link from Rhoose. From Rhoose train station you can then access the City Centre. Public transport is not as slick from the airport as it could be and so if you have the opportunity its to share a taxi then I would recommend that as a better option!
Bristol Airport is a much busier airport that Cardiff and has lots of flight routes. Transfer options from this airport to Cardiff City Centre can be found here . A regular coach service connects Bristol Airport with Cardiff and Cardiff University. The 216 is a National express Service that goes directly to Cardiff but this only runs 6 times a day. Alternatively you couldn't get a bus to Bristol City Centre (every 12 mins) and connect to Cardiff from either the City Centre bus or rain stations.
The other alternative is a flight to London Heathrow and then a train/bus direct to Cardiff...sometimes this can be as cost effective and quick as closer airports...

Train is the best way to get to Cardiff!
The main train station in Cardiff is Cardiff Central. National Rail services connect Cardiff with numerous major UK cities. The University campus is approximately 20 minutes walk from Cardiff Central train station, and the majority of accommodation options are located between the train station and the University. Alternatively, after arriving at Cardiff Central you could change to a Valley line train that stops at Cathays (the train station that is on campus), although Cardiff is a relatively small city and so it may be quicker to walk and to take in some of Cardiff's sights on route!

There is no real need to get a taxi in Cardiff City centre. The City is compact and the University and commercial centre are adjacent to each other...but if you really want a taxi then the local taxi firm is Veezu...or you could obviously get an Uber!
Both Megabus and National Express connect Cardiff with numerous UK cities. Both services stop in the city centre (within a short walk of the main University campus). Some services will also stop in the University campus (Park Place).

Accommodation in Cardiff
Delegates are responsible for booking and purchasing their own accommodation. As long as there are no big events in the City (and currently there isn't on the Symposium dates!) then accommodation options are usually varied and affordable.
Below are weblinks to four hotels, to suit all budgets, that are in short walking distance (<10mins) to the meeting venue (Redwood Building, CF10 3NB).
However, we do not recommend these hotels more than any other hotel, and you are encouraged to use accommodation search engines e.g. Booking.com (or similar) and review websites to find accommodation that suits you needs.
