An opportunity for undergraduate students to attend UKICRS 2026!
UKICRS are offering funding to support undergraduate attendance at our annual UKICRS symposium, where researchers with a passion for all things drug delivery meet, learn and enjoy themselves for a couple of days. This year the event will take place on 11-12 June in Glasgow, with full details available here.
The student must have an interest in pharmaceutical sciences / drug delivery and be supported by an academic supervisor from their host institution e.g. a project supervisor or personal tutor.
How much is the award?
The bursary includes free attendance to the symposium (worth £125) and a travel bursary of up to £300 to fund (or partially fund) travel and accommodation. We will award up to 5 bursarys.
What do I need to do?
Applications are invited from students in their penultimate or final year of their undergraduate education in any university within the UK and Ireland. If eligible, just complete the application form at the bottom of this page. Applications must include:
How will the award be selected?
Applications will be assessed by the UKICRS committee. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 3rd May 2026. The committee decision is final. UKICRS cannot offer feedback on individual applications.
What if I am successful?
You should plan your trip. The bursary should cover the costs for travel (economy class) and accommodation (one night hotel stay up to approximately £150 per night), up to a total of approximately £300. When you have booked your travel and accommodation, you should provide evidence (e.g. screen shots) of the costs. The UKICRS will then provide you with a discretionary single payment to cover these costs. You can do that before the event to ensure you are not “out-of-pocket” for any significant length of time. UKICRS will not assist in travel plans.
If applicants have data to present (e.g. from a dissertation or summer placement) then they are also encouraged to submit an abstract for a poster presentation at the event.
Do I have to do anything after the event?
Following attendance at UKICRS 2026 all applicants must submit up to 200 words or a 2-minute video about their experience at the event. This may be shared (anonymously in the case of the written work, if preferred) on the UKICRS website.
Submitting an application
Application forms should be completed and submitted online (see below) by Friday 24th April 2026.
