The nominated activity, which will be selected by the student, must be related to the general field of pharmaceutical sciences / controlled release drug delivery. The applicant must have the support of an academic supervisor, and, where relevant, a supervisor at the host academic institution.

Applications forms should be completed and submitted online on the Research and Development webpage by Saturday 31st March.

Also, entries are now being judged for the UKICRS Travel Bursaries to CRS New York – expect an update on this in the next couple of weeks!

In order to enter the competition, the PhD student must submit a high resolution version of a single figure, published previously in a journal article, that they deem to be particularly impressive, inspiring, or that speaks something important about their research project. The figure can be taken from one of their own articles or the work of other researchers. Full details and submission form are available in the Bits ‘n’ Pieces section of the website under ‘Travel Award for CRS 2018’.

Just a quick update on the Travel Awards to CRS New York next summer. We are delighted to have two £1000 travel bursaries to award to our UKICRS members. In order to enter the competition, the PhD student must submit a high resolution version of a single figure (published previously in a journal article) that they deem to be particularly impressive, inspiring, or that speaks something important about their research project. The figure can be taken from one of their own articles or the work of other researchers. The applicant also has to have actively contributed to the UKICRS. Examples of this can be attendance at one of the past UKICRS symposia or writing an article for the annual Newsletter. Please also detail in your application how you fulfil this requirement. Full details and submission form are available in the Bits ‘n’ Pieces section of the website under ‘Travel Award for CRS 2018’.

We are asking for submissions for our 2018 edition which will be printed early next year. We are interested in all contributions – essay style pieces, short articles, personal stories about your research experience etc. It should be science based but does not have to be serious – in fact the more creative the better! You can have a look at our past editions (all uploaded on the website) for some ideas!

If you would like to contribute a piece please send me a copy of your article by 8th December.
